Itzhak Perlman, the Israeli-American violinist, conductor, and master-instructor is widely considered to be one of the preeminent violin virtuosi of the 20th century. While primarily a solo artist, he has also performed with a number of other notable musicians, including Yo-Yo Ma, Jessye Norman, Isaac Stern, and Yuri Temirkanov. In the East Room at the White House, Perlman played during the entertainment at the state dinner attended by Queen Elizabeth II in May 2007.
