The Louisiana State University Tigers football team represented the state of Louisiana with pride. The Tigers have won two national championships since the turn of the century, against Oklahoma in 2003 and Ohio State in 2008. With over 700 wins, LSU boasts the 12th most wins in NCAA history. The team faced off against Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl Classic in January 2011.
